Alright so tonight I saw the Fantastically absurd fanatically INSANE play, "Marat/Sade". This is very dark and forboding, set in THE worst possible time in the French Revolution. Each person in the performance played his or her part well. while not all of them having important parts, they all kept character well for the most part. ya know how it goes. most of you are "theatre kids" anyway.
right now is Disney fest in my headphones. Basically all the songs I love to listen to in a pretty down to earth soft mood. Selections from The Lion King, Aladdin, Tarzan, The Little Mermaid, and of COURSE 1 Barbershop song. =), and for those of you who are "Smiley Challenged": (= heheheh
Holy God I want to be in a Barbershop group again...Jesus. I just downloaded this song called "Irish Lullaby". the last 10 seconds have graced my headphones many times. the name of this group wasn't disclosed, it sounds like Nightlife. after awhile you can distinguish a group by its Bass. There is always a certain underlying personal tone to a Bass. You can hear the traces of each persons unique voice. Which, in barbershop, shows through especially with the Bass. this is why you can pick out people in ensemboles when you know their voice. When all those people used to say, "hey Dave I heard you a lot!", well yeah you did, because you know my voice, and although Basses can blend, it is easier to pick out an individuals voice.
Not don't get angry here people, everyones voice is unique and can be picked out. I just believe from awhile of praciticing that it is much more apparent in the voice of a Bass. don't believe me? try me sometime, we will have Barbershop/A Capella/Madrigal/Mixed Chorus for for all ages!.
I really wish I could sing right now, but Bill is attempting to go to sleep.
Oh Well >=)
